Bringing the World Cup Home to the Next Generation
Teenagers are looking for a place where they belong and a cause to get excited about.
The 2026 World Cup is coming to North America, and it is going to be huge. More than 5 billion people across the globe are expected to tune in to watch the matches. This isn’t just a sporting event; it is a massive cultural moment that brings neighbors, friends, and families together. For those of us who follow Jesus, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to open our doors and share the hope we have with others.
Teenagers today are looking for community, excitement, and a sense of purpose. That is why we are thrilled to highlight the Victory Beyond the Cup: Teenage Edition. This resource was specifically crafted by Cru High School, a ministry that has been dedicated to reaching youth since 1967. With nearly six decades of experience in youth outreach, they have designed a toolkit that meets students exactly where they are.
Whether you are a youth leader, a parent of a teen, or just someone who wants to host a high-energy event, this resource is for you.
Why Focus on Teenagers?
Teenagers are looking for a place where they belong and a cause to get excited about. Soccer has a unique way of breaking down barriers between people of different backgrounds and ages. By hosting a World Cup event specifically for teens, you are creating a safe space for them to connect, have a blast, and hear about God's love in a way that feels natural and low-pressure.
The Teenage Edition was designed with this "energy" in mind. It moves beyond just sitting on a couch and watching a screen. It’s about engagement, competition, and meaningful conversation.

What’s Inside the Teenage Edition?
We’ve put together a collection of tools to make hosting simple and successful. You don’t need to be a soccer expert to use these. You just need a heart for hospitality and a desire to see young people grow in their faith.
1. The Host Playbook
The core of this edition is the Host Playbook - Teenage Edition. This guide walks you through every step of the process. It covers how to invite people, what snacks to serve, and how to keep the event moving so there are never dull moments.
2. Games That Bring Life to the Party
One of the best things about the Teenage Edition is the games. We know that teens (and adults!) love a little friendly competition. In fact, even if you aren't hosting a youth-specific event, you should check these out. They are perfect for any watch party.
The Cup Challenge Game: This is a high-energy activity that gets everyone moving. You can find the details here: Cup Challenge Game.
Trivia Game: Who knows the most about the World Cup? This game is a great way to fill the time during halftime or before the match starts. It works for all ages! Check out the Trivia Game here.
General Games: We also have a list of other Games that require very little setup but provide a lot of laughs.
3. Faith-Building Tools
Victory Beyond the Cup isn't just about soccer; it’s about the "victory" we find in Jesus. To help you share this message, we've included The Four Training. This is a simple, visual way to explain the story of the Gospel using four symbols. It’s easy for teens to learn and even easier for them to share with their friends.
4. The Digital Extra
We know that for many teens, the love of sports extends to the digital world. That’s why we’ve included resources for Video Games and additional Digital content. This allows you to bridge the gap between the physical match on TV and the games they play on their consoles.
Adults: These Aren't Just for Teens!
Don't let the "Teenage Edition" label fool you. If you are hosting a watch party for your neighborhood or your small group, the Trivia and Cup Challenge games are guaranteed to give life to your gathering. They break the ice and help people feel comfortable and connected before you dive into deeper conversations.
How to Get Started
Hosting an event can feel overwhelming, but VBTC is here to make it easy. Our goal is to provide "plug-and-play" tools so you can focus on the people in your living room rather than the logistics of the event.
